(This is the same post I have done since 2017 for Memorial Day and I will continue to post each year)
A semi-frequent question I get from visitors to my website or from new members when they join my Get Lippy With Stephanie Facebook Group is "Are you running any sales right now?". I love finding a good deal and I am all about finding that great sale when I go to the mall...that's for sure. When it comes to offering sales on LipSense and skin care products, I do run specials on occasion, as many of you know. I do want to let you know, in case any of you are wondering, that I will NOT be running a Memorial Day sale at the end of the month.
I realize that I run the risk of losing customers, but my reasons for doing so are not because I am greedy and just want to charge full price, but rather I personally feel that Memorial Day is not about discounting mattresses or sales on clothing or living room furniture. Memorial Day is a day of remembering and honoring those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country and the rest of the world. Yes, we all have family get togethers and BBQ's and enjoy the day off work, but at some point, it seemed to become an over-commercialized marketing executive's dream.
I grew up in a military family, both of my grandfathers served in the Pacifi Theater of WWII, my own father and that of my friends were military officers, I lived on military bases and I was a History major in college and have studied the Civil War, WWI & WWII extensively. Honestly, the servicemen and women who have died for our country or while protecting those in other countries who needed our help, are SO much more deserving of recognition than what is currently shown to them. Memorial Day is not about men dressed up as Uncle Sam trying to sell cars. It is not about LipSense or makeup, either.
Remember those who gave all for your freedom this Memorial Day and spend time with the ones you love. Don't spend it shopping.
